Spring Equinox with Quetzalcoatl

March 20, 2016 — By Gabriel Hartley

I woke up around 4:30 this morning and was immediately bathing in the rush of excitement from my recent revelations concerning the role of Quetzalcoatl in this Age of Transition. After tossing and turning for about a half hour, I finally got up and did my yoga and pranayama exercises in order to be primed for the communication session I knew was about to unfold. And as I had intuited, as I dropped deeper and deeper into the other-worldly swoon of my pranayama sequence, I was contacted by Quetzalcoatl.

Quetzalcoatl_1

This communicative event began with very intense and releasing energy rushes that surged throughout my body. My entire being was being flushed and primed for this influx of new energy, and every cell in my body was scintillating. Then, after simple welcoming (warming up) words, Quetzalcoatl began speaking in a more directed manner as He-She led me through this introduction.

He-She first drew my attention to the rising sun (which still at this point at 6:51 A.M. has not really begun to light up the Eastern horizon—although it is very cloudy here in Southeastern Ohio this morning). I mentioned that I was facing westward, and He-She told me that I could draw my attention to that which lies behind me just as well as anything lying before me. In fact, He-She continued, this reversed direction of attention was perfect for the message I was receiving. And that message concerns the New Dawn of Quetzalcoatl.

Dawn

For over a century now we have known that we are in a New Age of transition and growth. We are passing from one major period of planetary development—the Age of Pisces—into the New Age of Aquarius. And the herald of this New Dawn is Quetzalcoatl, the figure who embodies opposites. Quetzalcoatl, after all, is the feathered serpent. As feathered, He-She embodies the energy of the Bird Kingdom, the Bird Tribes as they soar through the heavens. As serpent, He-She embodies our chthonic relationship to Coatlicue, the serpent woman, our Earth Mother who is also the Mother of our deep awakening as we pass through the confrontation with our Shadow Self in the Underworld. In this way He-She embodies the dragon aspect of our being. Quetzalcoatl embodies all primary opposition: Light-Dark, Male-Female, Heavens-Earth, Black-White, Night-Day, and so—significantly—the Dawn of the New Day.

This New Day is the day of alignment, balance, reconciliation, and unity. The various systems of opposition that have kept us prisoners in a battle of differences are breaking down as the Planetary Soul learns to synthesize these oppositions into unities. This alchemical unity of opposites provides us with a new energy that can drive us into the future and take us out of our Illusion of Separation as we enter into this consciousness of cosmic unity. This is the New Dawn of Quetzalcoatl.

He-She then reminded me that today is the Spring Equinox, the day of Balance in the annual transition from Winter to Summer. This is the season of rebirth, of Easter, of renewal and hope. How appropriate, He-She exclaimed, that you make my acquaintance on such a propitious day just at the moment when the new day is dawning!

So I welcome this new year of growth and higher consciousness in this new relationship I have been welcomed into with Quetzalcoatl.

THE MANATAKA LESSONS ON THE CAUSAL PLANE

By Gabriel Hartley

October 5-7, 2015

Last Tuesday night (September 30, given that it was after midnight) and again this Tuesday night (October 7) I was awoken at about 3 a.m. and spent a little time tossing and turning in bed before I decided to get up and converse with the spirits who woke me up. I went into the yoga room, sat on my meditation cushions, and did my tuning-in Pranayama, what I call the Kyy Breath. Almost instantaneously I saw and felt the presence of some new beings whom I had never consciously met before. So after grounding myself in the Golden Light of Grace and the Highest Good of All Beings, I joined them in conversation.

FORGING UNITY AMONG THE BODIES AND PLANES OF EXISTENCE

As usual in these kinds of spirit encounters, I felt the electrical charge of the merging of our Mental Bodies. Yet with these beings that charge was many times more powerful than my normal experience. And in many ways this experience itself was the content as well as the effect of their message to me.

They began by having me focus on the intensity of this super-charged connection, relaxing as it surged throughout every fiber of my body—or, more appropriately, bodies. For my physical body was not the source of these feelings but simply the last layer of resonance. What I quickly learned was that in this moment my Physical, Etheric, Astral, Mental, and Causal Bodies were simultaneously engaged in this charged merger of their bodies with mine. And this experience of my Causal Body, which to my memory was the first time ever for me on a conscious level in this lifetime, became the focus of the entire message.

image002Before going into more detail about these body mergers and charges, however, I thought it important to find out who they were and what their intentions were. When I asked, they immediately told me that they were known as the Manataka and—as many other a being has done—told me that I could look them up later on Google if I wished to, but I might not find much there.

I should mention here that I was receiving a lot of this information through various means other than through conscious verbal telepathic communication (although there was plenty of that, too). Much of what I “heard” or “saw” was presented to me in energetic bundles. I can only compare these bundles to warm, almost-molten balls of wax that carried immense amounts of information being released as the wax balls melted into my energy body and then spread throughout my other bodies. I realized then that the electric sensations I had felt during our Mental Body mergers were themselves transfers of dense charges of information. In other words, while I could actually “hear” them in their telepathic linguistic gestures, at least ten times as much information was simultaneously “melting” into my system.

I then came to understand through means that I cannot describe that they were beings who in part are associated with the North American continent’s river systems. I could see them hovering like a spirit fog just feet above the Missouri River as it winds its way through the state of Missouri on its way to the Mississippi River. I asked them if they were responsible for the flow of traffic in and over these river systems and they said yes, but not in the exclusive way that that might sound. In other words, they are not the only ones responsible for such traffic and at the same time they are responsible for far more than simply river traffic. In fact, they oversee the coordination of the efforts of other classes of beings who themselves oversee the atmosphere (such as the Matakin), the subterranean realms (such as the Kachinas), and the surface of the planet itself. In some way that I don’t yet understand, their work as conductors of all of these strands of energy and information takes place primarily through the energetic streams of the rivers, and especially through the river vortex systems located at all conjunctions of other rivers and streams.

After telling me about their relationship to the energetic expressions of the planet’s geographical systems (such as rivers, underground channels, atmospheric passages, and much more), the Manataka then turned my attention to my own bodies. They explained that there is an important parallel structure that marks both the planetary and the individual system of bodies. In other words, the question of proper alignment of Mental to Astral to Etheric to Physical Bodies involves the relationship between individual beings and the planetary being at large. If humans are out of alignment, to a certain extent so is the planet.

RISING INTO THE CAUSAL PLANE

After letting this parallel between human and planetary bodies sink into my consciousness, they began demonstrating this individual-planetary alignment by having me focus my attention simultaneously on the physical plane of the planet and the physical plane of my own body. I could feel in my own body the physical flows that they were engaging the planet; I could feel in my own energy body the etheric flows that they were engaging the planet; I could feel in my own astral body the astral flows that they were engaging the planet; and I could feel in my own mental body the mental flows that they were engaging the planet. And, most importantly, my conscious bodily experience of these individual/planetary alignments was in itself the synchronization of my own causal body and the causal body of the planet. This conscious experiential harmony of individual and planetary bodies is itself the causal body. In other words, the causal body involves the recognition from a higher plane of conscious experience the total integration of the part-to-whole expression of the planet as experienced, for example, through us (as through any being who arrives at such a higher level of consciousness).

At this point I realized that before now I had had no real idea what the term “causal” might refer to. I simply understood it as a higher, more-rarefied level of energetic and conscious existence—which it is—but I had no idea how this higher level might come into being as an object of conscious understanding through this totalizing kind of energetic alignment. Now I knew the reality of this concept through my own deepest experience, which is what real knowledge is anyway. Abstract concepts are important way stations, but they do not rise one up onto a true plane of knowledge until they become concrete experiential concepts. In this way, G.W.F. Hegel was right on target in his Phenomenology of Spirit in his description of the dialectical process mocing from the Abstract to the Concrete.

The Manataka then drew my attention to the fact that this unifying multi-body energetic experience they had led me through was in fact a very important aligning exercise for humans to practice on a daily basis. With this totalizing causal encompassing relationship of bodies in mind, any physical activity could function as the vehicle for allowing this causal alignment to ground itself in all of our bodies. Qi gong, yoga, t’ai chi, hiking, swimming, and so on, when engaged from such a unifying perspective, each become a “proper” physical vehicle for manifesting the causal body in our conscious experience. And one very important end result is that through such multi-body exercises, we clear all of our various bodies of harmful energetic blockages. This is what disease is after all—an energetic block; and healing is the process of freeing this blocked energy back into its proper flow and circulation. The conclusion the Manataka left me with last week was that it is crucial that we keep all of our bodily, planetary, and cosmic circulatory, emanatory, and receptive channels cleared by engaging them on a daily basis.

As for the physical body, their suggestion was that we be sure to maintain a practice that includes bodily, respiratory, and mental exercises. In this way, we prevent systemic blockages of many different kinds and maintain the energetic equilibrium we were designed to engage.

THE MAHADEVAS AND THE YOGIC PLANE

Last night, as the Manataka reiterated last week’s lesson for me, I learned that these beings are a class of Mahadevas, that is, a higher grade of devas, whose primary role is that of coordinator or conductor of the activities of all other beings in relation to the Causal Body of the planetary being. They suggested that they operate on the Buddhic Plane, but that for the moment I should continue to focus on the Causal Plane at this point in my conscious development and alignment.

The Manataka, I learned, are in league with the particular class of Elves who function as the overseers of planetary portals and with whom I have been working since my first night in our house three summers ago. In fact, last night’s “communicative event” began with the Elves making initial contact with me, confirming and validating the information I had received last week so that I could relax a bit more and take in the information I was about to receive on this night without the paranoiac blockages that rightly arise when I am not sure of the nature and intentions of the beings I am interacting with. Then the elves cleared the Elfin Portal of any encumbrances or distorting beings so that I could maintain a clear channel to the Manataka.

One further crucial element of the lesson for last night was my recognition that it can be helpful to see the Causal Plane as equivalent to what could be called the Yogic Plane. In this sense, the causal plane stages the conscious unity of the host of bodies I have been referring to here. And this higher mode of union is, after all, what the term yoga refers to. As such, the causal body itself serves as a portal bridging the lower and higher realms of being. The causal body is the hinge-point, the gateway through which we can pass as the causal body wraps all elements of the lower bodies into one yogic field staging our lift-off into the higher spheres of consciousness.

AFTERWORD

Following their advice, I did look the Manataka up on Google. I have found references to work done by others related to Manataka as a place name: the Place of Peace, the Sacred Mountain, and Valley of the Vapors. [See, for example, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1lKmmepoFA.] I have not had the chance as yet to work through this material and meditate on what if any direct connections I might find between these beings who identify themselves as the Manataka to me and this Sacred Mountain revealed to Lee Standing Bear Moore. I leave that for future exploration.

I have found, however, that everything the Manataka have told me is verified in many places on the internet. Again, I do not have the time as yet to lay these connections out other than to say that these finds through Google are very satisfying.

I welcome any comments and anecdotes that might clarify, strengthen, and expand upon the information I have received thus far. Thank you.

And thanks to the Manataka.

Discipline—Teachings from Callador, Elfin Representative

May 20, 2015

[The following words from Callador were channeled by Gabriel Hartley following a middle-of-the-night instruction.]

chakra fireThere are times when you feel as though all of the progress you have made over the years has suddenly gone and disappeared. These can be times of despair, when you feel the backslide, as they say, “from Grace to Perdition.” But despair not. The light of the Divine ever shines within you and is available at a moment’s notice.

What many beings forget from time to time is that all beings go through cycles of ebb and flow, of high and low, of light and dark, of flame and spark. But the tiniest spark is simply a glimmer of the eternal flame that warms and enlightens your being.

The key at such moments of despair is to remember your discipline. Now the word discipline tends to conjure up images of austerity and self-flagellation. But discipline is simply a return to source. Discipline is the reassurance that once you regain your focus, your previous progress rises up in an instant and glows before the world.

As a concrete and practical example of what discipline means for you, you have your own particular set of practices that help to orient you and get you in the spirit, so to speak. For instance, you might have a warm-up practice of breathing exercises (pranayamas) that help to open up your chakra system and your visionary capabilities and allow you to enter into your usual meditative and visionary state. In your case in particular, Gabriel, you have been given the Kyy Breath pranayama practice, and this has proven to work wonders for you and Anna as you enter into your usual visionary states.

On a practical level, then, what I mean by discipline is returning to the practices that help you return to source. You need no painful or tedious Spartan regime unless such a regime suits your needs and your temperament. You simply need to do what always works well. Even at your lowest moments, the simple act of breathing in or chanting or visualizing is all that is necessary to clear the blocks and to allow you to open up once more.

More often than not such blocks are simply intellectual concepts and fears. “Oh Lord, I am not worthy!” These despairing concepts emanate from those aspects of yourself that are most unstable or uncomfortable with changes in your psychic status quo. But the simplest way to take control over your psychic status quo is to return to your source, return to your rejuvenating practice, return to your discipline.

A guide to a deeper understanding of the notion of discipline comes from meditating on the word’s etymology. What are the roots and source concepts that inhere in the term? While the medieval Christian uses of the term involved connotations of chastisement, suffering, and punishment, you will see that the Latin sense of the term referred to instruction, learning, and knowledge.

The root of the word is disciple, and this sense is much closer to what I have in mind. The Latin discipulus means “pupil, student, follower,” from discere, to learn. And notice the words’ resonances with the term discern. Through this resonance discipline comes from disciple, the student capable of discernment, the capacity of being able to distinguish the rays of connection and separation in a moment of perception.

etymologySo discipline is simply the act of entering into the bodily, intellectual, and spiritual mood necessary for the igniting of chakra fires capable of illuminating the objects of our visionary experiences. And once one enters into such a state, all despair and doubts vanish.

My Christmas Gift from Turehu

Christmas 2014

orbGiven the solemnity and joy for many people on this particular holiday—at least for those who actually celebrate it as a Holy Day—I thought that it might be good for me to do some yoga, meditation, and ceremony of a sort. It is a day of renewal and in many ways represents the true New Year. So as my wife and son, Anna and Kivi, continued sleeping, I got up determined to do some “traditional” shamanic journeying on this Christmas Day.

[Please note that what follows is a lesson for me regarding following my own path to truth. Neither I nor any of my spirit guides have any intention of criticizing other shamanic paths. The point, rather, is to embrace all paths that lead to truth while being true to one’s own truths. May all beings prosper as they follow their appropriate paths. By the way, I love drumming but have just never been called to engage in it in my own practice.]

My intention on this day was to follow through with the advice that the Grandfather Tree in the forest on our ridge had given me about a week ago. On that day, as I was walking ceremoniously (and what for me could be called “shamanically”) through the forest, I was drawn to the Grandfather Tree along with some other spots I am often called to, although not always all together on the same particular day.

As I leaned into the tree with my forehead pressed against it, the Grandfather began addressing me. He began with his usual greetings and friendly words and vibrations—I rarely hear much more from him, although I often feel that I have gained some energetic wisdom during each of our visits. But suddenly and unexpectedly he said, “You need to undergo a shamanic journey.” Surprised, I asked him to say more.

“You need to undergo a shamanic journey. A journey involving soul retrieval. Long ago in a distant lifetime you lost a key element of your soul, and now you need to get it back. During this journey you will meet with a being who will offer you an object embodying your lost soul part. You must accept this object, swallow it whole, and then you will be restored after many lifetimes of deprivation and suffering. This particular Karmic trail is coming to an end.”

I was surprised to receive this advice, or, perhaps, more wary than anything else. For I had never done a journey for a soul retrieval before. And beyond that, I have always had more confidence in my shamanic work for others than for myself. I am often too self-conscious to see things as clearly as I think I should when it comes to helping myself, and so I often end up feeling a bit frustrated after doing some personal spiritual task.

drumA few days ago I tried to do such a soul-retrieval journey for myself, but with only partial success. I put on some shamanic drumming music and, after my ritual yoga and pranayama workout, lay down on my yoga mat and closed my eyes. Initially things felt great. I eased into the drumming rhythm, the heartbeat of the worlds, and quickly drifted into a dark and cloudy sleepy kind of space. I could tell that what was being prepared for me was a kind of projector screen, a backdrop for the visions that might come to me in this alternate dimension.

Soon I saw a faint glow in the center of my visual field. The glow grew a little in size but not much in intensity. At a certain point I noticed that within this growing glowing circle there was a winged being—an angel. I tried to make direct contact with this angelic being, but after a few seconds it began shifting shape. It then slowly dawned on me that the angel had changed form into the crocodile-headed humanoid god of Egypt known as Sobek.

sobekI have seen several classical Egyptian figures in my visionary journeys in the past few years, but never Sobek. In this visionary state I established an energetic communication stream with him, but I never heard him speak any clearly identifiable words. Eventually I simply drifted off into a dreamy, floating sleep, feeling wrapped in a warm and dark womblike atmosphere that seemed like an opiate haze. After twenty minutes of this comfortable, indefinite slumber, I awoke and realized that I had gone on a dream journey, but one that evidently will have to wait before I achieve any kind of enlightenment and meaning from it beyond the beautiful sense of comfort. The key point was that no being, not even this Sobek, had offered me anything that I recognized as an object that I should swallow in order to retrieve my lost soul energy ball. So I knew then that I would have to try again to journey into the proper environmental conditions for a successful soul retrieval.

Days went by without a good opportunity for such a journey when Christmas Day arrived. I woke up early and decided that my first gift to myself would be to attempt another retrieval journey and hope for better results at Christmas.

As in my earlier attempt on the day when I encountered Sobek, I began with my usual opening up preliminary exercises—yoga and pranayams—and then lay down on the carpet in our yoga room. Again I began to slip into a dreamy fantastic space, comforting and opiate in tenor. I called on my main spirit guide, Turehu—in her words, a “fairy of the highest order”—and asked her to accompany me on this journey, hoping that in her presence I might better stay awake and draw this figure to me who would offer me my lost soul ball. She began helping by speaking to me about the benefits and drawbacks of my previous attempt at soul retrieval. And then fairly quickly she stopped and suggested that this particular method of lying down with closed eyes might not be my proper journeying mode.

“What do you normally do when you journey, Gabriel?” she asked.

I told her that I usually sit in a yoga position on my meditation pillow and drift off into the Otherworld in that posture.

“Then why,” she asked, “are you lying down on the floor with your eyes closed when this is not your usual method?”

I had to admit that I was doing so because I had recently been challenged concerning my personal shamanic procedures, the suggestion being that I should follow more “conventionally-accepted” methods. This was, in fact, why during my earlier attempt at soul retrieval I had taken the corpse-pose and the drumming background as my approach.

Acknowledging that there is immense power in shamanic drumming, Turehu nevertheless then suggested that I take my usual position, given my success with that procedure, and ignore the criticisms, however well-meaning. So I got up and sat on my meditation cushion and immediately entered the Otherworld.

I could now see Turehu there, standing to my left—an indefinite yet beautifully warm human-shaped glow. Like the other fairies I have seen, Turehu is not at all some small flower-like being as we see in Disney movies but actually a humanoid form that is larger than the typical human. The typical fairy, as they have presented themselves to me, is seven to eight feet tall. And so this was how I saw Turehu on Christmas morning.

With Turehu at my side, I then peered into the mist of the Otherworld—the “Mists of Avalon,” as I now call it—that has come to characterize my current state of visionary encounter. I waited, hoping for the being that the Grandfather Tree had predicted to appear and hand me my soul orb and ask me to swallow it in order to repair my fragmented state of being. I again saw angels coming and going in the glowing center of the visual field, but none came forward to offer me anything.

At a certain moment a realization shot through me like a bolt of lightning. “Wait a minute—I have been waiting for some new, strange being to greet me. But what if the being I have been waiting for is Turehu herself?” As soon as I became conscious of this question, I also knew in my greatest depths that this was the truth. Here I had been waiting for some new being to approach and introduce itself when all along my beloved spirit guide Turehu was there by my side with a brightly glowing orb in her left hand.

orb2“It has been you all along!” I shouted, and Turehu smiled. She reached her left hand out to me, offering me the glowing orb.

retrievalI slowly and ceremoniously accepted it, lifting it from her hand and carrying it to my mouth. As soon as I placed the orb into my mouth—it appeared to be about the size of a billiard ball but with no noticeable densely material mass—I felt that lightning shooting once more throughout my being. This is a frequent experience when I encounter power beings and enter into an energetic continuum with them. But this was probably the most beautiful intense electrocution I had ever experienced. It shot throughout my whole physical body and soon I felt it shooting throughout my etheric, astral, and mental bodies and well. After a good thirty or forty seconds of this spirit energy charging through my being, I saw the orb slowly pass down through my esophagus, my stomach, and then take its place in the hollow pit in my Third Chakra, just below my sternum. It fit itself perfectly into this chamber and then its glow intensified and flowed throughout the various levels of my body, from physical to causal.

Turehu, now standing directly in front of me, then placed her hands on my shoulders and looked me square in the eyes.

“You are whole now, Gabriel. You are once more reunited with your soul essence. Over time you will come to learn in detail how you initially lost it and why it has taken this many lifetimes for it to be returned to you. But the main point for you to recognize is that you are now whole. You are complete. And nobody else’s definition of you matters unless it fits with the truth of yourself that you know in your very being. You now know what is true for you, what is your very own truth.

“This is why the traditional journeying posture would not work for you. That posture and the definitions that go along with it are appropriate for some shamans. But your own version of shamanism is growing out of your very being. That is the only appropriate method and definition for you—the one that comes from your connection to your Higher Self. This, in part, is what it means to be whole, to be complete.”

In tears I thanked her. I slowly opened my eyes and embraced a whole new Christmas Day and a whole new me.

The Elves on Flexible Identity at Solstice Time

By Gabriel Hartley

December 16-17, 2013

Winter-Solstice-Celebrates-the-Shortest-Day-of-the-Year-650x374

This morning as Anna and I were doing the Kyy Breath pranayama sequence that the Kyy serpent spirits taught me last year in Finland, I got to the second stage of the instructions where I normally indicate that it’s time for the “Spiral Breath.” As occasionally happens, this morning I felt inspired to add more specific details and ended up saying, “Spiral Breath, focusing on the Celtic and Hopi Spirals.” As soon as I said this, a voice that by now I immediately recognize as that of the Elf representative working with us corrected me, saying, “It’s not simply the Celtic or Hopi Spiral. The Spiral symbol is universal and has been granted to cultures of all times and places!”

Spiral_Pine_Gap_002

As soon as Callador, the Elf representative, said this, I immediately agreed. In fact, this is in line with the message I have been receiving since my initial communication with the Kachinas during our travels through Mesa Verde, Chaco Canyon, and Taos in August. At that time I was struck by the coincidence of the presence of the Spiral symbol etched in stone in Ireland and the U.S. Southwest. We had been engaging with the Spiral throughout Ireland in June and now were doing so again in the region that is now called Colorado and New Mexico, and I was getting the clear sense that this was not at all accidental but a true coincidence in the root sense of incidents happening in direct relation to one another, things that were co-incident.

The larger point beyond what the Spiral symbolizes was the fact that various human groups at different times and places have been receiving the exact same symbolic images. And it was clear that Anna and I were being drawn to the image itself for very similar reasons. As the Kachinas made clear in August, the Spiral represents, among other things, the circulation of the sacred winds, including the breath. The ceremonial kivas are intended to take advantage of and even to stage the expression of these sacred winds. And this symbolic relationship between the concept-experience of the sacred winds and the Spiral image is a universal expression that goes beyond the limits of any specific cultural symbolic system.

The Kachinas before and Callador now stressed this point that certain symbolic terms and features should not be strictly associated with a specific culture. No individual person or culture can claim ownership of a particular image. This fact is important not just in terms of universal transcultural access but also in terms of an expansive notion of identity. This expansive notion of identity is related to the idea of universal symbols in that we need to stop imagining that one particular thing is what it is because it has some stable and unique core identity based on specific attributes. In fact, all things are far more mobile and plastic than we normally assume—as Buddhists have been contending for centuries. Each thing is at any moment the result of a specific constellation of frequencies and energies. So our notion of identity should be much more mobile and flexible in order to take this range of constellations into account.

I should comment at this point that although I began these notes over twenty-four hours ago (it is now 10:03 am on Tuesday, December 17), I have found it extremely difficult to get through the process of recording my meditation experience from yesterday morning regarding the flexible nature of identity. I see this in itself as a sign of inner and outer resistances to this message and therefore a sign that the message itself is far more important than I let myself think initially. Soon after starting the recording process yesterday, Anna and I found ourselves going through extremely intense emotional states individually and as a couple. We would go through a beautiful, romantic period of an hour or two of kissing, gathering firewood, listening to beautiful music, all leading us into a heightened state of ecstasy. This ecstasy would then almost immediately be followed by an equally intense period of arguing and shouting about personal boundaries and individual competencies and varying ways that we each approach and process things. And then we’d fall into each other’s arms again, madly expressing our deep love.

So it does not seem at all coincidental—in the usual sense of this term—that one of the topics Anna and I found ourselves passionately arguing about turned out to have to do with this notion of flexible identity and definition itself! Over the past few weeks I have been getting bits and pieces of suggestions that it will be important for us to do something relating to the upcoming Winter Solstice here on the Portal property. So what we found ourselves arguing about in the midafternoon was exactly what this “something” we might do might in reality be. We found ourselves getting deep down into the recognition that each of us perceives and responds to the very same energies and entities and experiences in quite different ways. This means that the same energetic experience of the Elves, for example, would lead to one kind of expression within me and to a very different kind of expression within Anna. Yet we were responding to identical impulses while addressing these impulses in our own ways. After forty years of intense academic intellectual activity, I, for example, find it quite natural to respond to things primarily through ideas and concepts; Anna, on the other hand, after a couple decades of intense graphic design activity, responds to things much more imagistically. And we both respond to these same things energetically but find ourselves resorting to differing methods of expressing our experiences of these energies.

This in itself is a perfect example of the need to be conscious of the flexible range of frequencies and energies that we call “identity.” What exactly is this experience we each have together? What are the better ways of approaching it, making sense of it, expressing our understandings of it? And what we concluded through this very important process of renegotiating our communicational styles was that each of us is right, and that together we are even more right! In fact, it appears that one crucial reason we have been called together as a couple on this spiritual path is to find the appropriate blend of our individual natures and to produce a more powerful and effective third position that serves as the constellation of each our energetic fields. Our working hypothesis at this point, then, is that we have much more to offer others through our combined efforts than either of us would have on our own. This freighted alchemy offers a mixture of potentials that takes on a flexible compound identity of its own.

Now I will return to my initial response to the message of the Elves concerning the need to loosen up my sense of identity. One reason their message is especially important to me at this point in my development is that in the past six months I have been finding myself in conversation with beings who call themselves Kachinas. And these beings lead me through various meditations on elements that they refer to as kivas, sipapus, Ant People, Emergence, Blue Star Kachinas, and other things the terms of which call us to think of the Pueblo cultures of the U.S. Southwest. After having spent over a decade intensely involved with the political struggles for indigenous rights in this hemisphere, I have been trained to be especially sensitive to anything that smacks of cultural appropriation, especially the appropriation of religious images and rituals. So in response to this sensitivity, I have very deliberately tried to avoid the typical New Age tendency to resort to a variety of tribal images and practices as a way of expressing my own spiritual growth and understanding. This means, then, that I immediately get nervous when I find myself called on to write about my experiences with beings called Kachinas and Ant People, for the last thing I want to do is trespass upon the sacred rights of any people, tribal or other.

Circles_A4_002

But what the Kachinas insist on in response to my reticence is that they themselves have come to me; they themselves have identified themselves as Kachinas; they themselves have drawn my attention to the Ant People before I ever heard of such entities in any literature about, for example, Hopi belief systems. And they insist that they are not calling on me to invade Hopi or Zuni or other Puebloan territory and claim it as my own. What they are calling on me to do is to listen to their messages and respond to their energies with an open mind and an open heart.

And this again brings up the issue of identity. Whatever the provenance of the term Kachina, can it be said that one specific human grouping has exclusive access to such spirits? The Kachinas tell me time and again that they have been forever available to peoples across the planet and that they go by various other names (such as Kahuna). Whatever the power of the names we are given to refer to them by, the identity of the entities stretches far beyond any one culture’s imagination and participates in a planetary and extra-planetary exchange of frequencies and informational structures and processes. For whatever reason, they have identified themselves to me by the name of Kachina while asking me to recognize that their identity is not in any way exhausted by such a term.

So here we are on the verge of the Winter Solstice—which, by the way, is the beginning of Kachina season in the Northern Hemisphere, the day on which the Kachinas come back to the northern peoples to assist them through the hard and beautiful days of winter. And so here we are, Anna and I, nearing the darkest evening of the year and considering what this means for us, what this calls on us to do, and how this calls on us to expand our verbal, conceptual, imagistic, and energetic repertoires as we open up and make more flexible our senses of the nature of identity—our own and that of everything else in creation.

The Triple Spiral of the Portals

October 4, 2013

I will attempt to reconstruct what I have learned in the past few days from my meditations on the hill above our house. There is a lot of information that remains fuzzy at the present moment, but a general structure of significance seems to be falling into place.

Triple Spiral

During much of August and September Anna and I were led to focus most of our attention here on the First Portal, which was revealed to involve a heavenly or celestial vortex. (For the sake of coherence, I will repeat some of the information I have relayed in previous accounts.) I had many direct and indirect encounters with the Archangel Gabriel here, as well as with Michael and other unidentified angelic powers. The general message seems to have been that we should continually anchor ourselves in this Angelic Force, not only for the gifts we would receive from such beings but perhaps even moreso because this would impel us to acknowledge and claim our own Angelic Nature. One aspect of this message is that humans are multidimensional, complex beings made up of many elements, including the Angelic. We are Terrestrial Angels.

The Second Portal was shown to involve the energies of an Earthly Vortex—that is, a vortex arising from subterranean sources. This portal is overseen by Water Fairies and represents a point of contact or entry into the subterranean water systems throughout the planet. I have been led through various meditations and exercises for connecting to and with these water forces. Given the fact that Fairies in general have a hard time dealing with the intensity of Human Energies, the Elves mediate between us and the Fairies in order to moderate the energy flow from us humans to the Fairies, just as the Elves mediate between Humans and Angels in order to lesson the intensity of Angelic Energies that Humans come into contact with.

The Third Portal, which I have barely been led to explore as yet, represents what I can only at this point call Alternative Realities. This seems to refer to dimensional planes that I cannot even imagine at the moment, planes that go beyond our usual spatial coordinates of Heaven (Causal), Earth (Physical), and the Underworld (Etheric). At the moment I can only imagine dimensional realms existing as alternative universes, realms of experience that we can slip into and out of, but not without preparation if we wish to avoid serious trauma.

Now to the realizations of the past three days: We were drawn to meditate on the hilltop in the meadow which we have mown and where we sit to enjoy the beauty of our surrounding landscape and the change of seasons. I was told ahead of time that this spot was not chosen randomly by us but has special energetic significance in relation to the rest of the property. After getting attuned through some Kundalini Yoga chants and our own Kyy Breath Centering Meditation, I was told to tap into the energies of the First Portal. As I was sitting facing north, this meant that the First Portal was off behind us to the left, or to the southwest of the hilltop. As I did so, I immediately felt the presence of Gabriel and was led through some connecting exercises to connect with my own Angelic Energies. This led to familiar and still amazing experiences as the energies flowed through my various bodies.

Next I was led to connect to the Fairies and Elves at the Second Portal, who took me through now familiar exercises in which I engaged with the forces of the entities themselves and then to the Water Elementals I again flowed through the subterranean water systems of the planet.

Then I was asked to open myself up to the energies of the Third Portal, which I hadn’t yet been invited to do. While the energies of the Angelic Portal tend to be very electric, as though currents of energy flow through me and extend my being into a larger energetic circuit, and the energies of the Second Portal feel, not surprisingly, more liquid and bubbling, the energies of the Third Portal felt much more substantial in the sense of solid and dense. Yet the feeling of these energies was very comforting and warming. If you could say that the First Portal energies give rise to a flying sensation and those of the Second Portal give rise to a swimming sensation, the Third Portal energies felt more like a warm, comfortable night in bed under wonderful blankets and on luscious pillows. I cannot think of any time I have experienced this particular quality of energy before.

The Triple Spiral

As amazing and welcome as this new Third Portal experience was, I had not yet experienced the greatest rush of flows yet to come. This happened when I suddenly began to notice that I could feel the energies of all three portals flowing through me (and me through them) simultaneously. I asked my Guide whether this were true, and the answer was that this was the most important experience for me to go through and ultimately to consider—the relationship between the Three Portals with us at the Center Point of perspective and signification. I was invited to bathe in this new combined flow, and as I did the image of the Celtic Triple Spiral suddenly appeared before my consciousness. I could at that moment see each portal simultaneously rotating in a counter-clockwise circle. What I mean by “simultaneous” is that even though each portal lay quite a distance from me in physical space and each in its own planetary location, I could literally see each portal spiral as if I were hovering over each simultaneously, seeing three different geo-spatial coordinates at once as they lay stacked on top of one another.

At the same time, nevertheless, I was seeing the very spot where Anna and I were sitting—the hilltop above the Second Portal and below the First (to the left) and Third (to the right up on the highest ridge top). And I realized that this spot was the point of convergence of the energies of each of the three portals. Just as I was seeing myself hovering above each portal, watching each spin in equal rhythm with the others, I could also see the spot where I was sitting serving as the conduit for the flows of all three portals. I said to my Guide, “This is the significance of the Celtic Spiral!” (which we had seen throughout Ireland during our travels in June), and my Guide said, “Yes!” I then heard the following statement: “The Image, the Word, the Object, the Gesture—all are portals, points of convergence where multiple realities intersect. The key is to recognize the invitation to travel these overlapping vectors, to see these points of convergence glowing in their infinite possibilities.”

This statement proves especially significant for me as I have been spending the past few weeks intensely reading the Sufi philosophers, especially Ibn ‘Arabi and Suhrawardi, and commentary on them by Henry Corbin. A key element of their thinking and spiritual experience for me is the way in which they approach the Image or the Figure—every Image and Figure!—as an archetype for the relationship between the Human Angel (humans in their angelic aspect) and the Holy Spirit as represented by (figured by) the Angel Gabriel. To have this energetic and imagistic revelation by means of the Angel-Elf-Fairy influence of my portal experiences was mind blowing! This was exactly the kind of unification of my spirit visions and my intellectual exercises that I had been seeking. And it all came via the image of the Celtic Triple Spiral which I had been meditating on for months in conjunction with the Kachina spiral images of the U.S. Southwest.

In short, things feel as though they are quickly and massively coalescing for me on a multitude of levels. Wow!

Planetary Breathing: A Meditation from the Elves

September 3, 2013

lotusearth1

Relax and sink into the calm of the energy.

Breathe in slowly and deeply.

Breathe out slowly and deeply.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

As you breathe in, imagine the gases and chemical compounds that fill your lungs as you inhale them from your local atmosphere.

As you breathe out, imagine the gases and chemical compounds that leave your lungs as you exhale them into your local atmosphere.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

Breathe in. Breathe out.

As you breathe in, now imagine all of the entities around you also breathing in.

As you breathe out, now imagine all of the entities around you also breathing out.

Billions of creatures across the planet breathing in.

Billions of creatures across the planet breathing out.

You are sharing the atmosphere with all other entities on this planet at this moment. You share on the in breath and you share on the outbreath.

The entire planet breathes in. The entire planet breathes out.

The entire planet breathes in. The entire planet breathes out.

The frogs are breathing in. The frogs are breathing out.

The bats are breathing in. The bats are breathing out.

The moths are breathing in. The moths are breathing out.

The deer are breathing in. The deer are breathing out.

The ants are breathing in. The ants are breathing out.

The flies are breathing in. The flies are breathing out.

The birds are breathing in. The birds are breathing out.

The buffalo are breathing in. The buffalo are breathing out.

The trees are breathing in. The trees are breathing out.

The flowers are breathing in. The flowers are breathing out.

The fairies are breathing in. The fairies are breathing out.

The elves are breathing in. The elves are breathing out.

The moose are breathing in. The moose are breathing out.

The snakes are breathing in. The snakes are breathing out.

The turtles are breathing in. The turtles are breathing out.

The humans are breathing in. The humans are breathing out.

The angels are breathing in. The angels are breathing out.

The rocks are breathing in. The rocks are breathing out.

Everything that you can imagine is breathing in.

Everything that you can imagine is breathing out.

As you breathe in, then, you connect with every other being on the planet.

As you breathe out, then, you connect with every other being on the planet.

In this way you connect energetically and spiritually with all of existence on the planet.

In this way you connect energetically and spiritually with the planetary being.

And once you have become attuned to the breathing in and the breathing out of the planet, and all beings on the planet in tune with your own being, you have opened up an energetic connection with the planetary being.

You have joined in consciousness and intention with the planetary being.

You have become conscious that you are one with the planetary being.

You are now and always one with the planetary being.
